The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 on its official website.
The CTET 2026 exam will be conducted on 8th February 2026 across 132 cities, in 20 different languages, through offline (OMR) mode.

CTET 2026 – Complete Details

Name of Exam: Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), February 2026

Conducting Body: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

Exam Type: Offline Written Examination (OMR)

Exam Date: 8th February 2026 (Sunday)

Age Limit: Candidates 18 years and above are eligible to apply.


Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2026

Candidates must meet the required educational qualifications for Primary Level (Class I–V) and Secondary Level (Class VI–VIII).


Primary Level (Class I to V)

Candidates must have any one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
  • Graduation + B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)


Secondary Level (Class VI to VIII)

Candidates must meet any one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
  • Graduation with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
  • Graduation with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
  • Any candidate with a valid NCTE-recognized B.Ed qualification is eligible.
  • Candidates pursuing teacher education courses recognized by NCTE/RCI are also eligible.
