Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2026
Candidates must meet the required educational qualifications for Primary Level (Class I–V) and Secondary Level (Class VI–VIII).
Primary Level (Class I to V)
Candidates must have any one of the following:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation + B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
Secondary Level (Class VI to VIII)
Candidates must meet any one of the following:
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
- Graduation with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
- Graduation with 50% marks + passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
- Any candidate with a valid NCTE-recognized B.Ed qualification is eligible.
- Candidates pursuing teacher education courses recognized by NCTE/RCI are also eligible.
