Indian Air Force Recruitment 2026 Details
The post offered under this recruitment is Agniveer Vayu. The total number of vacancies will be announced later by the Indian Air Force. The selected candidates will be enrolled under Agniveer Vayu Intake 01 2027 through the Agnipath Scheme. The duration of service will be four years. The recruitment is conducted by the Indian Air Force under the Ministry of Defence Government of India. The Agnipath Scheme was launched on 14 June 2022. Job posting will be across India. Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air Force Recruitment 2026
Age Limit
Candidates who are born between 01 January 2006 and 01 July 2009 are eligible to apply. Candidates who successfully clear all stages of the selection process must not be more than 21 years of age at the time of enrolment.Educational Qualification
Science Stream
- Candidates must have passed Intermediate or 10 plus 2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics Physics and English from a recognized board with minimum 50 percent marks in aggregate and 50 percent marks in English.
- Candidates who have completed a three year Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical Electrical Electronics Automobile Computer Science Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology from a recognized Polytechnic institute with minimum 50 percent aggregate marks and 50 percent marks in English are also eligible. If English was not a subject in Diploma then 50 percent marks in English in Intermediate or Matriculation will be considered.
- Candidates who have passed a two year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics as non vocational subjects from a recognized board with minimum 50 percent aggregate marks and 50 percent marks in English are also eligible.
Other Than Science Stream
- Candidates must have passed Intermediate or 10 plus 2 in any stream from a recognized board with minimum 50 percent aggregate marks and 50 percent marks in English.
- Candidates who have completed a two year vocational course with minimum 50 percent aggregate marks and 50 percent marks in English are also eligible. If English was not a subject then marks in Intermediate or Matriculation will be considered.
Medical Standards for Agniveer Vayu
The minimum acceptable height for male and female candidates is 152 centimetres. Candidates from North East region and hilly areas of Uttarakhand are allowed a minimum height of 147 centimetres. For Lakshadweep candidates the minimum height is 150 centimetres.
For male candidates the chest should be well developed with a minimum circumference of 77 centimetres and minimum expansion of 5 centimetres. For female candidates chest expansion should be at least 5 centimetres.
Weight must be proportionate to height and age.
Female candidates will undergo gynaecological examination which includes examination of external genitalia hernia orifices and perineum. Any female candidate found pregnant at any stage will be disqualified.
Candidates should have normal hearing and must be able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
Candidates should have healthy gums good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit without any medical or surgical disability infection or skin disease. They should be capable of serving in any climate and terrain across the world.
Body Tattoo Rules
Permanent body tattoos are not allowed. Tattoos are permitted only on the inner side of forearms from elbow to wrist or on the back side of the hand. Tribal candidates may be allowed tattoos as per their customs and traditions. Tattoos that are offensive obscene indecent sexist or racist are strictly prohibited. The final decision regarding acceptance of tattoos will be taken by the Selection Centre. Candidates with tattoos must submit two postcard size photographs showing close and distant views along with details of the tattoo.
Pay Scale of Air Force Agniveer Vayu
During the first year the monthly package will be 30000 rupees and in hand salary will be 21000 rupees. In the second year the monthly package will be 33000 rupees and in hand salary will be 23100 rupees. In the third year the monthly package will be 36500 rupees and in hand salary will be 25550 rupees. In the fourth year the monthly package will be 40000 rupees and in hand salary will be 28000 rupees.
After completion of four years candidates will receive a Seva Nidhi package of approximately 10.04 lakh rupees along with accrued interest. A life insurance cover of 48 lakh rupees will also be provided.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of 550 rupees plus GST. The fee can be paid using debit card credit card internet banking or by challan at any Axis Bank branch.

The application process is online only. Candidates must visit the official website and register as a new user. After registration candidates need to login fill in personal and educational details upload required documents pay the examination fee and submit the application form. Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form for future reference.
Important Dates for Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2026
Online application process will start from 12 January 2026. The last date to submit the online application is 01 February 2026. Admit cards will be issued 48 to 72 hours before the examination. The examination will be conducted on 30 March 2026 and 31 March 2026. The provisional select list will be released on 14 November 2026. The final Enrollment list will be published on 01 December 2026.
